the best bet is the san mateo bridge. in petaluma thousands turned out for a parade honoring a hometown little league team. petaluma national made it to the little league world series and ended up third in the world. monty is live from petaluma with the story there. they were so excited it looked like they didn't know what to do with themselves either. >> reporter: kris, that's right. since the 13 boys arrived home they have been treated like rock stars by people in their hometown. today was no exception. an estimated 20,000 fans attended a parade held in the team's honor, it started in walnut park at 1:00 went through downtown petaluma, circled back to the park where people gathered for a celebration. since their third place finish in the world series the boys had quite a welcome home. the city of petaluma had a welcome on wednesday, then on friday the boys got to attend an a's game and met a few professional players, today they were presented with a key to the city, and today's festivities were about the hometown fan and the pride felt by many here when it comes to this group of young

for the petaluma little league all-stars. >> leigh: i'm meteorologist leigh glaser. get rade for some gradual warming through the work week. my accuweather seven-day >> ama: a change in weather is making things difficult for firefighters battling wildfires across the state. there are nine major fires burning across the state right now. the newest began friday in lake county. the scotch fire has burned five square miles and is 10% contained. it's a mile away from homes but no evacuations are underway. >> alan: 75 miles southeast of that one, 1300 firefighterrers are fighting a massive fire. it burned 28 square miles since it began on september 4th. it's expected to be completely surrounded tomorrow. >>> in southern california, wildfire in the san gabriel mottes is expected to be fully contained by thursday. it's burned six and a half square miles and is 83% contained. the fire broke out over labor day weekend, and thousands were evacuated. all residents have been allowed back into their homes but camping is still prohibited in the area. >> ama: you might find yourself digging deeper into the p

of fans who showed up in petaluma to celebrate the little leaguers who are overnight sensations. >> good evening to you. i'm kris sanchez. a vigil for san jose firefighter who suffered a heart attack on the job. frank ryan is in critical but stable condition. kimberly joins us with more on what his friends and family are doing this evening and it seems every evening since he ended up in the hospital. >> reporter: holding vigil all 24 hours around the clock, waiting for him to recover. you can see the prayer vigil wrapped up. people are heading out now. about 75 people gathered about an hour ago to pray for frank ryan's recovery. the 41-year-old remains in critical but stable condition after he collapsed battling a fire on thursday at st. patrick's cathedral. the 16-year veteran of the department suffered a heart attack coming out of the building. firefighters have been at the hospital since and some say they will be here until ryan is awake. >> some of his best friends who are firefighters who adore him refuse to leave. so, they actually the first couple nights they slept on the linoleum
